Case study · Manpower, ~8,000 workers

A workforce ERP holding 2.9M+ attendance records

A UAE manpower business running roughly 8,000 workers on spreadsheets. Attendance, VAT invoicing and WPS payroll were all manual, and none of it was auditable after the fact.

2.9M+ attendance records ~8,000 workers Self-hosted, PDPL-strict

Eight thousand people on spreadsheets

Attendance was collected by hand. Invoicing was assembled monthly against those sheets. WPS payroll export was a separate manual exercise. Each step was survivable on its own, and together they meant nobody could answer a question about last March without rebuilding the answer from files.

The compliance problem is the one that eventually forces the issue. A spreadsheet has no audit trail, so there is no way to show who changed a figure or when.

What we built

An ERP live in production and now holding 2.9M+ attendance records. VAT-compliant invoicing is generated rather than assembled. WPS payroll export runs automatically. Employees handle their own requests over WhatsApp instead of walking to an office, which is the part that removed the most administrative load.

Where it runs

This one is self-hosted on UAE infrastructure the client owns, which is why we describe it that way. Payroll and attendance for eight thousand people is exactly the data most businesses do not want sitting on a foreign vendor's platform under a subscription they cannot exit.

Not every system we build is self-hosted, and we say so on the pages where it is not. This one is.

Stack

React and TypeScript on the front. Node, Express and PostgreSQL behind it. n8n for the automation and the WhatsApp Cloud API for employee self-service. Self-hosted throughout.
